June 17th NSS of Phoenix Featuring Donald Jacques Developing Sustainable Biomes for Space Settlement

The June 17th meeting of the Phoenix Chapters of the National Space Society and the Moon Society will be at our usual time (11 am) and location at the Humanist Community Center in Mesa (627 W. Rio Salado Blvd (formerly 8th St.), Mesa, AZ, 85201). Our guest will be Donald Jacques

Don was born in 1957 as an Air Force Brat.  Wanderlust has been strong since sitting in front of the tv in 1969 watching Neil and Buzz walk on the moon.  As a veteran of the USAF, he received training as both aircraft loadmaster, and facilities electrician.  Complex systems has always been an interest from the early days of experimenting with electricity, to developing applications as a Computer Programmer for 20 years.  With interests in Artificial Intelligence, Complex Systems, and Space Settlement, he seldom pauses from projects.

Founder of EarthSeed, Inc, Don now is focusing on the development of CELSS.  Beginning his research in 2010, he built an aquaponics system at home, then leveraged that knowledge to construct and tour his Tiny Home trailer.  He is author of  “EarthSeed: Settling Space in This Generation”, available on Amazon.  Now that that the Tiny Home is retired, he has embarked on the conversion of an 84 passenger school bus into a fully operational mobile Closed Ecological Life Support System Demonstrator. * Photo and Bio Permission from EarthSeed, Inc
