“Arizona Aerospace Day” at the Capitol is on the public schedule. This is the 2nd Aerospace Day event: There is no charge to visit the event and meet the representatives present from the various organizations on hand. The event is listed to be from 11 AM to 3:00 PM on January 17th, 2018. Vector Rocket is planning to bring a 60 foot rocket to display and there will be an F-35 demonstrator (simulator?). The last “Arizona Aerospace Day” was very exciting, and a great way to see what aerospace companies in Arizona are doing, and also see what’s happening with the major Arizona universities.
** This is an outdoor event. The event area, will be alongside the Arizona House of Representatives building. Be sure to dress for the weather, people were dressed in business suits to business casual dress. This is small Business event, you may get through it very quickly. However, its still is nice to see there displays.
** Items you may need are Business cards, and possibly parking money. A sandwich was provided and last year. However, if you are not coming early may it may be best to eat before you arrive. There were no food stands to purchase snacks once there.
** There seems to be adequate free parking at Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza, and some free parking at the capitol. Again, please bring money just in case, you possibly need 20 dollars for parking. Or A bus day pass for the light rail if you plan on trying to go as cheap as possible. (I believe its 4 dollars per person, most circle K sell them, grocery stores or go kiosk.
Current sponsors include: Lockheed Martin Company, The Boeing Company, ASU, Orbital ATK, Embry Riddle, and Honeywell. A tentative schedule is as follows (with events around the area to be added, including a remote pilot course):
