Phoenix NSS and Tucson L5 Joint Outing: Saturday March 17th Lets go to the Emerge Festival! and Live on the Moon! About 12:45pm meet up and Tour at 1:30pm

Our next event will be a Joint gathering for an NSS Phoenix and Tucson L5, we will be attending ASU’s Emerge festival, at 1:30pm on Saturday.  There are other times available however we will be playing this by ear and doing our best to tour together, or as close together as possible. Then, afterwards we’ll visit together with food. There are lots of restaurants along Mill Ave, well meet and decide where to eat from there.  Check out google maps and type in Mill Avenue Dining for restaurant ideas. Then, if anyone wants  to stay  for the Podcast 3:30 we will group up again!

This is a free event.  The theme this year is Lunar City!  Held at the J. Russell and Bonita Nelson Fine Arts Center 51 East 10th Street Tempe, AZ 85287.  The Interplanetary Initiative is participating in this event, March 17-18 for more info on times go to http://emerge.asu.edu and register in groups or alone. Im going at 1:30 if you want to join me.

I will be wearing my NSS badge and standing out front by the entrance booth, about 12:45 – 1:00  which is about 30 min before, as the website states to arrive. Schedule of Events:  Saturday

o   10:30 a.m.: Spaceport open for guests

o   10:30 -11:30 a.m.: Non-guided neighborhood tours (no actors; scenic experience)

o   11:30 a.m. -3:00 p.m.: Guided neighborhood tours (with actors; full experience)

o   3:30 – 5 p.m.: Podcast with Eric Molinsky with following presentation by Kim Stanley Robinson**

I’m not sure how long the tour is but wear comfortable shoes. There is a free bus service called ORBIT http://www.tempe.gov/city-hall/public-works/transportation/bus/orbit that is available we would be on Jupiter ORBIT it runs every 15 minutes. Just an FYI in case you may be interested.

Our previous Gathering in February was a meeting at the Capitol with AZ House Majority Leader John Allen on Space/Aerospace topics. A few members had an opportunity to visit and talk about projects they has a special interest in. we also got to share a glimpse of NSS members here in Arizona, We started at 9am, and ran to 10:20pm.
